Donald Trump has secured his third consecutive win in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Leading up to the caucuses, polls showed Trump dominating the Republican field.
Sens. Cruz and Rubio were locked in a tight race for second place. After South Carolina, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush dropped out of the race and many believed that Rubio would gain former Bush supporters and catch up to Trump. However, Trump disputed that claim saying he would receive even more support.

Saudi Arabia announced that it would not try to rescue the oil industry from low prices by cutting its production. Ali al-Naimi, Saudi Arabia’s petroleum minister, said that the industry needs to curb production for prices to recover. However, he said that producers of oil that is more expensive to extract will cut production to drive up demand and prices.

On this day in 1836, in San Antonio Texas, Colonel William Travis called for help on behalf of the Texan troops defending the Alamo.
Although severely outnumbered by the Mexican force commanded by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana, the Texans defending the Alamo refused to surrender. After which Travis realized his desperate state and called for help. Only 32 men from a nearby town responded to Travis’ call for help.

Senate Republicans met Tuesday to discuss whether or not to hold confirmations on a Supreme Court nominee from President Obama. The lawmakers decided not to deny a hearing for any nominee from President Obama.

A former Guantanamo Bay detainee was among four people arrested by Spanish and Moroccan police on suspicion of being in a jihadi cell recruiting fighters for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syra (ISIS).
The arrests come the same day President Obama announced his long-awaited plan to close the military prison in Guantanamo Bay.
