Where Clinton Stands On Some Of The Top Issues
Education:
Against No Child Left Behind but her position on Common Core is not known yet. In 2008, Clinton said she would end President George W. Bush’s trademark education program if she was elected. Recently she indicated support for Iowa’s version of Common Core but did not specifically endorse national education standards.
Clinton also recently released her college debt relief plan, which would provide thousands of dollars to help lower the amount of college tuition debt. The plan would require that students work 10 hours per week to receive money for college along with other requirements.
Immigration:
Clinton believes there should be a legal path to legal status. She also supports comprehensive immigration reform. In 2007, she voted a bill endorsed by then President Bush, which died in the Senate. Last year she supported President Obama’s executive order to waive deportation for some immigrants illegally in the country.

Clinton supports President Obama’s nuclear accord with Iran. As Secretary of State, she supported tough sanctions against Iran but recently said sanctions proposed by Congress would hurt chances of striking a deal. In 2008, she criticized Obama’s suggestion that the U.S. could negotiate with Iran without preconditions.
Islamic State:
Clinton believes that the U.S. should use air support to fight ISIS and that American and other Western troops should not be fighting on the ground. Instead, she believes that regional forces should take up the ground fight.
In an August interview, Clinton said the failure to help Syrian rebels led to the rise of ISIS.
